Weekend NZ is a weekend trip planner for Auckland, New Zealand. We do not collect, sell or share any personal data, and we have no server that stores anything about you.
Your preferences (budget, group size, dates, transport mode, language and filters), your saved plans and your check-in counts are written only to local storage inside the app on your device. Nothing is uploaded. Deleting the app removes it permanently.
The plain-words box on the first screen — for example “two adults, one child aged 3, $80, no car” — is read by rules built into the app, including any ages you choose to state for your children. Your wording never leaves the device, and the app ships with no model API key and no service address to send it to.
The app never asks for camera, contacts, photo library or health access.
api.open-meteo.com) — the weather card and the per-stop readings on a day you are viewing. The card sends only fixed, hard-coded coordinates for public places in Auckland; the per-stop lookup sends the coordinates of the places in that day, in one batched request. Neither carries your location, a device identifier or any personal information. The same request also asks for the day’s peak UV index, which appears on outdoor stops; nothing additional is sent for it. That figure is a forecast, not a measured level — measured UV levels in New Zealand are monitored by NIWA. Forecast data is licensed CC BY 4.0 (terms).services.arcgis.com) — the “on the way” check on a day you are viewing. The request carries a map bounding box derived from that day's places, with no identity, account or location of your own attached. It covers the national state highway network only, not local roads. Data licensed CC BY 4.0.api.geonet.org.nz) — the “recent shaking” record on a day you are viewing. This one request is a fixed address plus a single shaking-threshold parameter: it names no place, and carries no account, identity or location of yours. What it returns are earthquakes GeoNet has already measured, so it is a record of past shaking rather than a forecast of your day. The high and low water times shown on a stop’s card come from a table of LINZ predictions that was packaged inside the app when you installed it. Reading them sends no request anywhere and reveals nothing about you or your day. They are predictions published by Toitū Te Whenua Land Information New Zealand (Crown copyright, licensed CC BY 4.0) for the named port near that stop — not measurements of the water where you are standing.
A plan can be handed to the iOS share sheet as a calendar file or as a picture of the day, and your footprint recap as a picture. Both are generated on your device and go only where you choose to send them.
No accounts, no analytics, no advertising identifiers, no tracking pixels, no third-party crash-reporting SDK, no server logs kept by us.
The app collects no data from anyone, including children.
